Ala Hojjati graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Toronto. Fascinated by the human body and the power of the brain, she continued to complete her Master's of Science in Physical Therapy also at UofT. Ala is an Executive Member of the Global Health Division at the Canadian Physiotherapy Association with clinical experience in managing patients with neurological, orthopedic, and/or cardiovascular conditions. She values involving clients in their therapy as active participants and strives to provide holistic, up-to-date treatments based on the client's goals. Ala is passionate about expanding her physiotherapy tool box of skills and knowledge, as well as giving back to her community. She has successfully complete post-grad acupuncture training at McMaster University. Ala's contribution to research was recently published in the BMC Medical Education Journal, looking at equality in healthcare. She also has a focus on concussion testing and care.

 Danielle Gignac, PT, MScPT, BScKIN
 
Danielle graduated from York University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health Sciences. She continued her education in Dublin, Ireland at the University College Dublin completing her Masters in Science in Physiotherapy in 2014. Danielle has clinical experience in treating and managing conditions involving the cardiorespiratory and neuromusculoskeletal systems. She strives to provide her patients with a holistic and individualized treatment plan ensuring active participation. Danielle has past experience as a CSEP-Personal Trainer and has a keen interest in sports rehabilitation. She is dedicated to provide her patients with the most up to date evidence based treatment programs and continuing to increase her wealth of knowledge through continued professional development. Danielle also practices acupuncture through her post-grad completion at the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute.

Jennifer Bandhan, PT, MScPT, Hon BScKIN
 
Jennifer Bandhan is an active Member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. She graduated from York University in 2005 with her Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and obtained her Master's of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto in 2007. She has worked in multiple settings, including clinical, in-home and nursing home care; her experience extends into hydrotherapy, stroke rehabilitation as well as working with clients with acquired brain injuries. Jennifer has taken post graduate manual therapy and acupuncture courses, and is also a member of the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. She has also completed Fit FORE Golf courses, a research based approach to rehabilitating golf injuries.

Criston Bandhan, PT, MScPT, Hon BScKIN
 
Criston Bandhan graduated from McMaster University in 2005 with a Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. He continued to achieve his Masters of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto in 2007. He is a Member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. Cris has physiotherapy experience in a variety of clinical settings including neurology and orthopedic conditions, and he has focused his practice on the performance and recovery of high level athletes. Cris has taken post graduate courses in manual therapy, acupuncture and Fit FORE Golf; a research based approach to the rehabilitation of golf injuries and golf performance. He is also an active community member who advocates for youth development in sport. He currently writes for Kiai magazine (national martial arts magazine) as a physiotherapist.

Kimberley Sim, PT, MScPT, Hon. BSc

Kimberley graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Bio-Medical science from the University of Guelph in 2010. She then completed her Master's of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto in 2013. Kimberley has a variety of clinical experience in both musculoskeletal and neurological physical therapy. Since graduating, she has been most passionate about treating orthopedic and neurological injuries including stroke, cerebral palsy and MS with a focus on individualized exercise prescription and manual therapy. She is dedicated to providing the most recent evidenced-based care to her patients, including acupuncture, which she studied at the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. Kimberley is committed to continuing her education and is working to build on her current base of knowledge in physical therapy.

Melanie Reis, PT, MScPT, BScKIN, NKT Level 1  

Melanie graduated from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Scotland in 2014 where she received her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy. Prior to this, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts, Honours Specialization in Kinesiology from Western University. Melanie has helped treat a variety of populations, injuries, and conditions throughout her educational and clinical experience. In the UK, she worked with volleyball teams at the European Volleyball Championships and with local rugby clubs. Although she has a passion for sports, her primary desire is to provide high quality, evidence-based, and client-centered care in order to help clients reach their personal goals. Melanie is an active member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and is trained in acupuncture. She plans to pursue further education in manual and manipulative therapy.

Andres Abuhadba Rodriguez, PT, MScPT, Hon BSc, MCPA
 
Andres graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Health Studies from the University of Toronto. After being captivated by the role of rehabilitation in health care, he pursued his Master's of Science in Physical Therapy at U of T. Andres has experience dealing with orthopaedic and neurological conditions in both inpatient and private settings including sports injuries, post-surgery rehab, strokes, brain injuries, and spinal cord injuries. He is interested in a multisystem approach to rehab and works together with his clients to reach their goals by using evidence-based treatments. He is currently a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and an executive member of the Westgate Division of the Ontario Physiotherapy Association. Andres continues to expand his knowledge and has completed his Level 1 Manual Therapy Certificate and completed a neurological course on The Study of Human Movement. He plans to begin his acupuncture training and continue with his manual therapy certificates.

Giancarlo D'Uva, PT, MScPT, BSc  

Giancarlo graduated from the University of Toronto in 2002 with an Honours Bachelor of Physical and Health Education. He then continued his education in the field of health care, receiving his Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree from the University of Toronto in 2004. Giancarlo has worked in the community as a Physiotherapist since 2005. He has special interest in sports rehabilitation and concussion management, and uses a variety of treatment techniques to return patients to pre-injury function. Giancarlo has taken a wide variety of post-graduate courses in manual therapy, acupuncture and injury management. He lives in the community and coaches soccer locally as well. He takes great pride in the health and well-being of those in his care. Giancarlo places particular emphasis on educating his clients about the relationship between pain science and biomechanical factors that contribute to a given injury presentation. Laura Weglo, RMT  
Laura graduated from The University of Toronto with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical and Health Education. Further to her practice in Kinesiology, she pursued a career in Massage Therapy, graduating from Sutherland Chan School of Massage Therapy. Laura treats patients of all ages, from infants to seniors. She practices deep tissue and relaxation massage, as well as myofascial release and a variety of other techniques. Laura has a keen interest in women's health issues and has taken additional courses in pre- and post-natal massage as well as labour support. She is also a certified infant massage instructor. She is committed to continuously learning new techniques and regularly attends seminars and courses to stay current and up to date with the latest research, enabling her to offer different techniques and treatments. Laura is excited to be working at Performance Physiotherapy and Wellness and looks forward to becoming your massage therapist and working together to achieve your optimal health.

Matthew Marchese, CSEP-CPT, BA Hon. KIN  
Matthew graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2014 where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and Physical Education. In January 2017, he completed his Masters of Science degree in Physiotherapy at Manchester Metropolitan University in Manchester, England. Throughout his university career, Matthew has experience working in a variety of fitness domains including weight loss, strength and condition, injury prevention, functional and agility based training, all of which have furthered his knowledge in the field. Being a certified personal trainer through the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology (CSEP-CPT), Matthew has actively assisted clients of all fitness levels achieve their weight loss and performance related fitness goals. He is determined to provide all clients with accurate and effective fitness strategies that are individualized to ensure optimal training results. His favorite types of exercise include high intensity interval training, Olympic style lifting, and body weight or calisthenics based workouts. He is always looking for new and exciting ways to physically challenge himself as well as his clients both in and outside of the gym.
